While celeberating the 73rd Independence Day@Shenbagam on 15th August,I recalled a few Moving MOments of our Independence Struggle.
One cannot forget the above famous words of Lokamanya Tilak on being convicted on Kurdiram Bose Murder Trial..Nor his Ganesh Chathurthi to unite the divided Indians:
Young Gandhi’s Satyagraha in Jbrg and his long Love Hate Relationship with Jan Smuts,the General,who had sometimes started,even begging for Gandhi’s kind consideration during his negotiations..and Gandhi’s affectionate gift of Sandals to Smuts,which is still displayed in that Gandhi’s Prison at Constitution Hill,Jbrg
And the Courageous Saraswathi Rajamani(who was greeted by a set of Patriotic Youngsters on her 90th Birthday at Tiruppur last Year)who as a 16 yr old handed over all her jewellery worth 3 lacs in 1944 to Netaji and dressed as a Boy did such a great espionage work for Netaji,who said”Freedom is Never Given But Taken!”
And my most favourite of them all, Kappalottiya Thamizhan,VO Chidambaranar and his gratitude to the English Judge ,Vallace,who allowed him to Practise Law again and VOC naming his son born at that time as Vallacewaran..
And concluding on the One man Army who gave nightmares to the Britishers and proved Pen is MIghtier than Sword…
